Vusion is proud to announce its selection as Best On Shelf winner in the 7th edition of Barilla’s Good Food Makers, the Group’s open innovation program designed to accelerate the transformation of the food and retail ecosystem through concrete, scalable solutions.

Good Food Makers is structured as a collaborative innovation journey that connects industry leaders, retailers, and technology partners to address real operational challenges. Through a structured process—from challenge definition to Proof of Concept—participants work side by side to test solutions in real retail environments and generate measurable impact.

A Collaborative Innovation Project with Barilla and Conad Nord Ovest

Within the program, Vusion partnered with Barilla and Conad Nord Ovest to tackle one of the most critical challenges in physical retail: out-of-shelf and out-of-stock events, which directly affect shopper satisfaction, category performance, and operational efficiency.

The project focused on the Best On Shelf dimension, combining real-store execution with advanced digital technologies. The Proof of Concept was designed around a clear framework:

  • Identification of key shelf management and planogram execution challenges

  • Deployment of AI and Computer Vision to capture and analyze in-store shelf data

  • Continuous monitoring of availability, facings, and compliance

  • Transformation of shelf images into actionable insights shared across stakeholders

This structured approach enabled all partners to align on data, processes, and objectives—turning shelf execution into a measurable and manageable performance lever.

Turning Shelf Visibility into Actionable Insights

Through Vusion’s Computer Vision–powered shelf analytics, shelf images are converted into structured data that provides real-time visibility and decision support. The solution enables:

  • Continuous monitoring of shelf availability and execution

  • Automated planogram compliance verification

  • Detection and analysis of out-of-shelf and out-of-stock events

  • Store- and SKU-level insights to support operational and category decisions

By reducing manual audits and enabling faster, data-driven actions, the Proof of Concept demonstrated how digital shelf intelligence can significantly improve in-store execution and category performance.

Recognized for Delivering Real Value at the Shelf

The Best On Shelf award recognizes Vusion’s ability to deliver practical, scalable innovation that addresses real retail challenges. It also reflects the strength of the collaboration between Barilla, Conad Nord Ovest, and Vusion—showing how shared data, aligned objectives, and advanced technology can create tangible value where it matters most: on the shelf.

Advancing the Future of Physical Commerce

We thank Barilla, Conad Nord Ovest, and the entire Good Food Makers ecosystem for the trust and collaboration throughout this innovation journey.

At Vusion, we continue to support retailers and brands with solutions that bring visibility, efficiency, and intelligence to physical commerce—helping them optimize execution, improve shopper experience, and unlock the full potential of the shelf.
