Vusion’s advanced technology will enable INTERSPAR to streamline store operations and enhance product visibility across their stores in Austria
March 18, 2026 – Vusion, the global leader in AI-powered digitalization solutions for physical commerce, announced today it is partnering with one of the Austrian grocery leaders, INTERSPAR. The subsidiary of SPAR Österreichische Warenhandels AG will deploy its cutting-edge solutions across INTERSPAR and Maximarkt stores in Austria.
With the Vusion platform, INTERSPAR now manages pricing and promotions centrally across all stores, eliminating manual updates and speeding up execution with accuracy. To meet the communication needs of different product categories, the retailer uses a range of Vusion’s electronic shelf labels (ESL). Larger displays are especially effective in fresh areas like bakery and delicatessen, where clear visibility of ingredients, allergens or promotional messages is essential. This flexible setup ensures customers always see accurate, up-to-date information at the shelf, building transparency and trust.
Furthermore, the technology enables shop-in-shop systems, such as those operated by SPAR Group’s meat and sausage manufacturer TANN in INTERSPAR stores, to control their price and product communication independently. This way they can flexibly manage promotions, keep their inventory balanced and eventually offer their customers a better experience.
“After rolling out Vusion’s electronic shelf labels in 27 INTERSPAR hypermarkets, we are planning to deploy around 20 additional locations this year. The four-color ESLs provide accurate price and product information, while colored frames, for example for organic products, offer additional guidance. Our employees benefit from faster processes, giving them more time for personalized customer service,” says Johannes Holzleitner, Managing Director of INTERSPAR Austria.
“By adopting our latest technologies, INTERSPAR is set to boost operational performance and reinforce shopper trust through real-time pricing accuracy and transparent shelf-edge communication. INTERSPAR’s confidence in our cutting-edge solutions reflects the strong momentum behind our mission to digitally transform physical retail across the DACH region.” commented Sébastien Fourcy, SEVP EMEA, Vusion.
INTERSPAR also benefits from the native integration into the wireless infrastructure of the stores. This enables to saves costs by avoiding additional hardware and installation, and also accelerates the rollout itself.
