Rahul Sharma
Vice President Engineering
Rahul is responsible for all product development and engineering at
Vusion.
He has developed technology leading to more than 15 granted patents.
Prior to Vusion,
Rahul was Director of Engineering and Fellow of Technical
Staff for Motorola's Security Technology Group and the Mobile Devices
Business Unit. He was responsible for the creation of a 150+ person mobile
software excellence center for Motorola in the Bay Area, and for managing
the development of core components of the next-generation Java and Linux
based end-to-end mobile services and wireless software platform for
Motorola mobile devices.
In his more than 16 years of experience, Rahul has been involved with
innovation and development in the areas of distributed computing, web
services, enterprise integration, security, telecom systems and mobile
software platforms. While at Sun Microsystems' Java Software division from
1996 to 2002, Rahul was one of the lead architects on J2EE and Web Services
teams. He was part of the founding team for the J2EE platform and led the
architecture and development of core technologies in enterprise application
integration, Web Services and enterprise messaging. Rahul has authored
multiple technical books and publications based on his work at Java
Software.
Rahul has completed the Executive Management Program at Stanford University
Graduate School of Business. He has an MBA from the University of
California, Berkeley - Walter A. Haas School of Business, and a B.E.,
Computer Engineering, from the Delhi Institute of Technology, India.
Rahul also serves on the advisory board of 2 startups.
